Facial scans of six artists form the basis of a series of computationally generated masks. Using visual programming and bio-inspired algorithms, natural growth patterns such as branching systems, coral formations and cellular structures are applied to their scanned faces. The project combines 3D scanning, parametric design and digital fabrication to produce masks that connect biological processes with contemporary technological tools.
- Exhibit on FAB Casa del Mig
- Commissioned by Helena Galí
- Scanned artists: Goliarda Parda, Piel Mixta, Leslie Ortega, Santi Colorado, Agustina Palazzo and Cal Muck
